The Best Wellness Shot

Using the 6 tastes in Ayurveda.

I love buying a wellness shot with immunity-boosting ingredients.

But what's up with them costing the same as a signature latte?

Some of these famous wellness shots get so greenwashed and diluted that the product sold in stores is no longer in integrity. There is no way to tell if the tumeric in that little shot is enough to get any benefit!

So, I made my own go-to recipe using my knowledge of Ayurveda as the inspiration.

I love adding a simple combination of herbs, fruits, and vegetables to my daily routine. Concentrated juice shots give me a nutrient kickstart to my morning or a nice pick me up in the afternoon.

I wanted a wellness shot to offer all of the 6 tastes. Referred to as the rasas in Ayurveda.

The 6 tastes are essential in an Ayurvedic diet, no matter your prominent energy type.

  • This is not a recipe for any specific imbalance. Instead, I have a constant recipe in my routine to balance my doshas (my body ) and get quick, concentrated nutrients.

The six ingredients & their taste

Pineapple- Sour- stimulates appetite.

Himalayan Salt- nourishes tissues.

Carrots- Sweet- gives satisfaction to the brain.

Ginger-Pungent- promotes good digestion.

Lemon- Astringent- balances blood blood sugar.

Tumeric-Bitter- cleanses and detoxifies

You will need

2 lemons

a package of carrots (10-12 individuals)

1/2 of a pineapple

a whole root of ginger

about 12-15 pieces of turmeric root

Salt of your choice

90 minutes of time

Three easy steps

  1. Juice all of your ingredients into separate containers.

  2. Combine them all into one measuring bowl using this ratio.

Ginger: 2 oz.

Lemon: 2 oz

Turmeric: 4 oz.

Carrot : 6 oz.

Pineapple : 6 oz.

Add 1/8 teaspoon of salt to the mixture and combine.

3. Pour into 4 oz shot glasses. ( I found these at at the dollar store.)

Keep them fresh in the fridge and pull them out whenever you need a quick pick me up!

Now you have wellness shots to last you the whole week for half the price!
